Monthly Archives: April 2026

April Newsletter

Hello everyone! I hope you’re enjoying this beautiful spring weather — I am too, even with the allergies.

The year started at full speed. January and February were packed, and my classes have been wonderfully lively. It’s been exciting to watch people get completely absorbed in watercolor. In March, I visited my family in Japan, and I spent a lot of time hiking and painting. While I was away, my friends Kae and Jody kept the studio running, and I’m very grateful for them.

Now it’s April, and I’m preparing for the 4 Bridges Arts Festival in Chattanooga, April 17–19. It’s my first time participating, and I’m looking forward to it. If you feel like taking a small road trip, I’d love to see you there.

Mother’s Day is coming up faster than it seems. This month’s class project is designed to work beautifully as a card with a personal message. I also now offer physical gift cards in the studio, in addition to digital gift certificates on my website. If your mother has been curious about watercolor but hesitant to start, a class might be a thoughtful nudge.

Warmly,

Yuri Ozaki
